Our community partners have a significant role in morale activities of Base Alameda, such as Coast Guard Day, Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony, Enlisted Person & Civilian of the Quarter Recognition, Earth Day, and annual holiday toy drive. Military Affiliations:
Alameda County Chapter MOAA: Base offers MOAA (and other veteran organizations) to hold their chapter meetings/luncheons free of charge at MWR facilities. Their luncheons have interesting speakers and are open to all hands. All personnel to encouraged to attend.
The CWOA is also a sponsor of at the EPOQ/COC Recognition Ceremony. Their president presents a monetary award to the EPOC. The Golden Gate Chapter is an active partner with most, if not all, events and ceremonies that Base Alameda supports, such as Coast Guard Day, the Fall Festival, and the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony.
The purpose of the Northern California Coast Guard Retiree Council is to provide information which may be of interest to the general community of retirees from the U.S. Coast Guard, Coast Guard Reserve and the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration. The website provides retirees and their spouses access to links for survivor information and general benefit information. The NCCGRC hosts an annual All Services Retiree Seminar. Government Agencies:
In addition to providing quality merchandise in the store, in their catalog and on-line, the CGX provides the Coast Guard with supplemental funding to the Morale, Well-being, and Recreation (MWR) fund. Ms. Susan Stevens is the store manager. The CGX often has a vendor booth at island-wide activities such as Coast Guard Day and flag level change of command ceremonies.
Alameda is a Coast Guard City that is actively involved with events on CGI and often invites Coast Guardsmen and civilian employees to participate in city events. When the Mayor is not available, Mr. Hadi Monsef represents Alameda at the Base Enlisted Person of the Quarter (EPOC) and Civilian of the Quarter (COC) Recognition Ceremony
Local Business and Civic Organizations:
