Personnel Support Department

Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA) is a non-profit organization providing financial assistance to the Coast Guard community. CGMA is administered by the Board of Control located at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, DC, Regional Directors in various CGMA regions throughout the country, and Representatives at selected duty stations.

CGMA strives to promote financial stability and general well being of the people it serves.

Vision Statement
Coast Guard Mutual Assistance is a recognized leader in promoting financial stability for its members, empowering the Coast Guard family in meeting the financial challenges of the new millennium. Through partnerships with other assistance providers, we deliver innovative financial assistance in response to emerging Coast Guard family needs. Our people know that CGMA is always ready and always there as the critical safety net in time of financial need. We truly look after our own.

We assure applications for financial assistance are treated confidentially.
We treat all members of the Coast Guard community seeking information about or
application to CGMA in an honorable and respectful manner.
We provide assistance in a timely manner.
We consistently apply our guidelines and principles fairly and equitably to all members.
We make decisions based on the merits of the individual cases.

PSD Mutual Assistance
PSD provides Mutual Assistance to members in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We have two representatives available to help members needing assistance:

Please provide required application forms (see support documentation links below), a recent copy of your LES, and appropriate support documentation showing need for the loan.

**Note: The CGMA Application for Assistance form must include a supervisor and a command endorsement.
