Kent Greenes, President, Greenes Consulting, discusses the role of team peer assists during the kickoff of the 5th Annual Army Operational Knowledge Management (AOKM) Conference, Monday, 19 Oct.


On the AOKM Conference's first day, Mr. Ormond, Deputy to the CG, CAC, discusses how the Knowledge Value Stream describes CAC's use of knowledge transfer to support both TRADOC's Lines of Operations and CAC's Core Competencies.

During one of the six track discussions on the first day of the AOKM Conference, COL Doug Crissman, Director, HBCT Warfighter Forum (WfF), III Corps, elaborates on how the HBCT WfF facilitates communications with HBCT Commanders.


LTC Tony Burgess, Center for Advancement of Leader Development and Organizational Learning, US Military Academy, West Point, leads a group discussion about the impact of CompanyCommand.mil in supporting leader development in unit leader teams.

BG Allen Batschelet, G3, US Army Europe and Mr. James Crowley, Senior Analyst, RAND Corporation, discuss KM principles and practices.


Dr. Mark Nissen, C2 Chair and Director of Center for Edge Power, Naval Postgraduate School, discussed "Knowledge Dynamics in Military Learning Organizations." One of his key points was that the performance of organizations is directly proportional to the speed of knowledge flow.

BG Allen Batschelet, G3, US Army Europe, and Major Jason Caldwell discuss KM lessons learned and tools used during 4 ID's deployment in Iraq. During the predeployment phase, he forced his staff to use ABCS to do daily operations in lieu of PowerPoint.
