Scientific Review Officer Internship Program
The NHLBI encourages biomedical researchers who are interested in gaining science administration experience to apply for the Scientific Review Officer (SRO) Internship Program in the Office of Scientific Review (OSR), Division of External Research Activities at the NHLBI. The OSR manages the review of Institute initiatives, including grant applications or contract proposals, program project applications and various types of training–related applications. In addition, the OSR carries responsibilities for the preparation of instructional materials for applications describing the information required for submission and review.
Eligibility
To be considered for the Internship Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Training in, and knowledge of, the scientific literature and disciplines relevant to diseases of the heart, blood vessels, lung, blood, blood resources, or sleep disorders
- Research experience in a scientific discipline relevant to diseases of the heart, blood vessels, lung, or blood, blood resources, sleep disorders
- Ph.D. or equivalent
- Non-Federal employee
- Must be currently employed full time as an instructor, assistant or associate professor
- Must be a permanent resident or U.S. citizen
