Institutional Events
 Recurring institutional events at the Air Force Academy include Parents' Weekend, during which families and friends of cadets may visit their cadets and become more familiar with the Academy's objectives and facilities; and Graduation, which takes place at Falcon Stadium, usually in May, and culminates with a flyover by the Thunderbirds Aerial Demonstration Team. The Academy also hosts the Conference of Service Academy Superintendents, which rotates among the service academies, and the Thomas D. White National Defense Award Ceremony, which presents the award each year to a U.S. citizen who has contributed significantly to national defense and security.
