• GAO’s website is a great source for obtaining copies of published reports, testimonies, legal decisions, opinions, high risk series, and Comptroller General Presentations among other resources.  Note that only final reports, not drafts are available through GAO’s website www.gao.gov.

   GAO High Risk Series

• GAO’s 2011 High-Risk Series, is a biennial report to Congress on major problems costing the federal government billions of dollars annually. • GAO-05-35G contains the updated protocols that govern the U.S. Government Accountability Office's (GAO) work with executive branch agencies. DoD organizations & Functions Guide

• This Guidebook outlines the functions of the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Defense Agencies, and DoD Field Activities.  Where appropriate, the functional statement cites the pertinent Department of Defense (DoD) Directive which charters the organization and provides more detailed information on the authorities, responsibilities, and functions of the organization.  General information on the Military Departments, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Unified Combatant Commands, and the Inspector General of the DoD is also provided.  http://www.defenselink.mil/odam/omp/pubs/GuideBook/ToC.htm
