Abraham Lincoln spent fourteen years of his life and grew from youth into manhood (1816-1830) on this southern Indiana soil.  Many of the character traits and moral values that made Abraham one of the world's most respected leaders were formed and nurtured here.

Trusses for the Abraham Lincoln Hall

The Visitor Center was designed to be made  out of Indiana materials available in the early 19th century.The handcut limestone came from Bloomington;the state Department of Conservation furnished the native timbers and finished lumber; and the cherry table, chairs, benches,and pews were custom made.
