VETS BUSINESS BOOST
REGISTRATIONS BEING ACCEPTED

The second workshop of the Vets Business Boost workshop series will be held from 1400 to 1600 hours Thursday, 11 Oct. in Lansing.

The topic is Elements of a Quality Proposal. The program is designed to assist veterans in identifying and pursuing state contracting opportunities.

Michigan is one of a handful of states that have a preference in contracting for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business. Michigan has a goal of awarding 5 percent of its contracts to SDVOBs.

The workshop will provide pointers on how to write a good proposal that will communicate the bidder’s qualifications and message in a clear fashion.

The workshop is presented by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget and VetBizCentral.

It will be held at Constitution Hall, 525 West Allegan, Lansing. There is no fee for the workshop.

DIRECT DIALOGUE
WITH THE DIRECTOR

The SBA’s Michigan District Director will host a roundtable meeting with existing small business owners and resource providers from 0930 to 1200 hours Thursday 11 Oct.

The program will be held at the Insight Institute of Neurosurgery and Neurology Auditorium, 4800 S. Saginaw St. in Flint.

Gerald Moore, Michigan District Director and an Air Force veteran will guide the conversation on counseling, capital and contracting, exporting and other critical issues impacting small business.

The event is targeted toward businesses that have at least three years experience. There is no fee but registration is required.
