Several Habitat for Humanity partners have enjoyed much success with building Indoor airPLUS qualified homes. While they each approach home building a little differently, they all have recognized that the families who live in these homes will benefit from improved indoor air quality. The families who live in Indoor airPLUS qualified homes report fewer negative health effects, including asthma episodes.
EPA's New Home Labeling Programs Webinar
EPA's ENERGY STAR, Indoor airPLUS and WaterSense Programs joined Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver and their home energy rater, EnergyLogic , on August 17, 2011, for a Webinar describing the advantages of building to all three of EPA's voluntary New Home Labeling Program guidelines. Habitat for Humanity Affiliates from across the country learned how Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver began incorporating energy and water efficiency, and healthy indoor air quality into their affordable housing communities.
"We feel that building ENERGY STAR 3.0, WaterSense and Indoor airPLUS together is probably the best combination of programs out there to work for our partner families." — Mike Amoroso, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver
