Required Training

In order to have unescorted access at ORNL, you must complete the required Site Access Training (SAT) prior to your arrival.  After a user has been scheduled for a facility and approved for access, an email will be sent and information provided for the user to take the Site Access Training online electronically.

All users are required to successfully complete the training needed to perform their experiment safely.  Specific training requirements may be identified for facility access and for each instrument or user area (i.e., laboratories, preparation areas, etc.). For some user facilities, certain training must be completed electronically before arrival.  Upon approval for site access, the user will be advised of the training requirements and the information needed for accessing the web-based training.  It is vital that all required web-based training be completed before arrival at ORNL, as some of these courses are prerequisites for performance-based training you will receive on the day of your arrival. Contact the user facility or visit the facility web site for specific training information or questions.
