General Information


The IHS Division of Diabetes has a 20 year history of providing diabetes care and education services to the American Indian and Alaska Native communities. The Area Diabetes Consultants and a variety of professionals in the field have:

  • Been instrumental in identifying educational needs.
  • Had a key role in developing diabetes education resources.
  • Participated in field testing diabetes education material.

Ordering Information


  • Orders are mailed out by Media Mail. It takes approximately 4 - 6 weeks for delivery from the clearinghouse.
  • All programs and clinics that serve American Indian and Alaska Native communities can obtain multiple copies of the material at no cost. Others can order one copy at no cost.
