The U.S. Census Bureau offers workshops and seminars to help increase data users’ awareness, access and understanding of Census Bureau data products and services. Our workshops and seminars are available to the general public; federal, state and local organizations; and to Census Bureau staff. Below is a list of our current course selections.
Description: This webinar, for both first time as well as more experienced data users, is an overview of the Economic Census and other economic programs. Attendees will learn how to access related data using the data dissemination tool accessible via the Internet as well as tips on how to use the data.

Description: This half-day computer workshop is for any attendees having difficulty navigating the American FactFinder data access tool. The workshop provides a brief overview of the data topics using hands-on exercises. Attendees will explore the information and skills necessary to locate Census Bureau data relevant to their needs.
Description: This one-day computer workshop is for first time or novice data users who are interested in creating tables with microdata and aggregated datasets using DataFerrett to extract variables from the DataWeb, an online network of public and internal Census Bureau databases. Attendees will use existing variables to create custom data tables, simple and complex tabulations, and generate graphs and maps. This is a prerequisite to the DataFerrett-Advanced workshop.

Description: This half-day workshop introduces attendees to three Census Bureau data tools that release data produced by the Local Employment Dynamics (LED) partnership between the Census Bureau and 51 state partners. These data tools provide data on where workers live and work along with wages, and top industries for local areas and workforce. The on-line data tools, OnTheMap, Industry Focus and Quarterly Workforce Indicators (QWI) are featured through scenario-based exercises giving attendees hands-on experience.
