Synchrotron Methods Group

Welcome

The Synchrotron Methods Group develops and disseminates synchrotron measurement science and technology needed by U.S. industry to measure nanoscale electronic, chemical, and spatial structure of advanced materials.  The Group’s activities are carried out at the NIST beamlines at the National Synchrotron Light Source in three project areas: Synchrotron X-ray Measurement Method Development, Synchrotron X-ray Measurements, and Synchrotron Beamline Operations.

Programs/Projects

Synchrotron Beamline Operations—Our objective is to ensure that the NIST beamlines U7A, X23A2, and X24A, located at the National Synchrotron Light Source (NSLS) at Brookhaven National Laboratory, operate efficiently, effectively, …

Synchrotron X-ray Measurement Method Development—Our goal is to develop state of-the-art synchrotron X-ray measurement technology, including instrumentation, methods, and analytical tools, to enable measurements of structure not attainable by …

Synchrotron X-ray Measurements—Our objective is to provide comprehensive descriptions of the structure of advanced materials and devices by performing synchrotron-based measurements to enable the development and optimization of …
