(The images can be seen in more detail by clicking on the images
or their labels.) These products indicate the amount of rainfall needed
in the specified number of hours in order to begin flooding. The maps are
refreshed a few times a day (in the mid-morning, mid-afternoon, and by late evening).
In significant flooding events, they are also updated during the overnight hours.
Blues and whites on the color scale indicate wetter conditions and mean that it will take less rainfall to
start flooding than the yellows and greens, which indicate dry
conditions and require more rainfall to start flooding. |
