CADET LIFE
Boxing Club
The purpose of the CGA Boxing Club is to give dedicated cadets the opportunity to compete on an intramural and intercollegiate level. Collegiate participation is governed by the National Collegiate Boxing Association. For those cadets looking to challenge themselves beyond the intramural level, club membership allows cadets to continue to train and represent the CGA at numerous intercollegiate competitions alongside competitors from civilian schools as well as the other military service academies. The Boxing Club helps develop cadets in many ways outside athletic competition. Boxing is the best fear management tool CGA has to develop the skills needed as a successful boarding officers or boarding team members. It supports our “Guardian Ethos,” reminding members that failure is not an option when faced with adversity in the ring. This translates as they perform missions to protect and serve our citizens. Boxing helps build a lifelong commitment to physical fitness through rigorous training.
