Acquisition Center of Excellence

Acquisition Community Connection (ACC)
The ACC is the collaborative arm of the AT&L Knowledge System that complements the existing information resources located on the AKSS. The ACC consists of knowledge communities whose goal is connecting people with know-how.
Acquisition Management
Purpose, People, Products! This is the front door to the organization; mission; products; customers, and frequently asked questions of the Acquisition Systems Management Defense Acquisition Board (DAB) Executive Secretary. Develops, evaluates, and recommends management policies and procedures governing the operations of the entire DoD acquisition system for Secretary of Defense and USD (AT&L) approval. Identifies major Defense Acquisition Programs to the USD(A&T) and recommends those for either Defense Acquisition Board (DAB) (ACAT ID programs) or component oversight (ACAT IC programs). Ensures proper operation of the DAB and timely support from its Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).

Acquisition Support Center
The Acquisition Support Center (ASC) is a new field-operating agency under the Assistant Secretary to the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology. It was formed by merging the Army Acquisition Career Management Office with the Army Acquisition Excecutive Support Agency, as well as career programs CP-14 (Contracting) and CP-13/17(LogPro). The website has both public and private content.

Advanced Materials and Processes Technology
The Advanced Materials and Processes Technology Information Analysis Center (AMPTIAC) is chartered by the Department of Defense to serve as a government and industry focal point for data and information relating to advanced materials and processes. Like many of the other IACs, AMPTIAC is sponsored by the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC).

Aerospace Industries Association
The Aerospace Industries Association represents the nation's major manufacturers of commercial, military and business aircraft, helicopters, aircraft engines, missiles, spacecraft, materiels, and related components and equipment. Originally known as the Aeronautical Chamber of Commerce (ACCA), the association was incorporated in 1919. It was founded with a charter membership of 100 to advance aeronautics and American aviation. Early members included such aviation pioneers as Orville Wright and Glen H. Curtiss, as well as representatives of major aircraft manufacturing companies in the United States. Following World War II, the association was reorganized to concentrate on the industry's trade and commercial interests. Its name was appropriately changed to, "Aircraft Industries Association of America, Inc." and in 1959, to "Aerospace Industries Association of America, Inc." to recognize an evolving industry eager to embrace the new frontier of space. Today, AIA represents 84 member companies and 159 associate member companies.

ACC/AFWay Computer Store has developed a Web based, paper-free sourcing model designed to introduce continuous vendor competition and efficient access to Information Technology products for purchase by Government purchase card holders. The model incorporates the interactive capabilities of web-based technologies to a familiar cable television channel program guide concept and was used to develop a secure Web based system, called ACCWAY (later the name was changed to AFWay).
