ABREMA - Activity Based Risk Evaluation Model of Auditing
ABREMA is a normative model of assurance auditing that has been developed on the WWW for use as an aid in the teaching of introductory financial statement auditing. Although the pages in the ABREMA site do not refer to the auditing standards of any particular country or community, the model is generally consistent, unless otherwise noted, with International Standards on Auditing issued by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) of the International Federation of Accountants. Acquisition Community Connection (ACC)

Acquisition Management

Acquisition Support Center
The Acquisition Support Center (ASC) is a new field-operating agency under the Assistant Secretary to the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology. It was formed by merging the Army Acquisition Career Management Office with the Army Acquisition Excecutive Support Agency, as well as career programs CP-14 (Contracting) and CP-13/17(LogPro). The website has both public and private content.

Aerospace Industries Association
The Aerospace Industries Association represents the nation's major manufacturers of commercial, military and business aircraft, helicopters, aircraft engines, missiles, spacecraft, materiels, and related components and equipment. Originally known as the Aeronautical Chamber of Commerce (ACCA), the association was incorporated in 1919. It was founded with a charter membership of 100 to advance aeronautics and American aviation. Early members included such aviation pioneers as Orville Wright and Glen H. Curtiss, as well as representatives of major aircraft manufacturing companies in the United States. Following World War II, the association was reorganized to concentrate on the industry's trade and commercial interests. Its name was appropriately changed to, "Aircraft Industries Association of America, Inc." and in 1959, to "Aerospace Industries Association of America, Inc." to recognize an evolving industry eager to embrace the new frontier of space. Today, AIA represents 84 member companies and 159 associate member companies.

Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System
The Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requires that past performance information (PPI) be collected (FAR Part 42) and used in source selection evaluations (FAR Part 15). The CPARS process establishes procedures for the collection and use of PPI for the business sector contracts. CPARS generated PPI will be one of many tools used to communicate contractor strengths and weaknesses to source selection officials and contracting officers. The Department of the Air Force usage of an automated CPARS collection capability is aimed at reducing reliance on paper, improving the business process, and being more efficient.

The primary function of Electronic Document Access (EDA) is to allow authorized users to access official Department of Defense (DoD) documents via a Web browser. GSA has developed an extremely successful Airline City Pair Program. This service originally covered only 11 markets, but over the last 20 years, it has expanded to almost 5,500 city pairs. The airfares offered under this program average a 68% discount off comparable commercial fares; saving the Federal Government approximately $2.5 billion annually. In addition to the tremendous price savings, the Airline City Pair Program has many features which allow Government travelers all the flexibility possible in planning official travel.

National Communication System
A single unified communications system to serve the President, Department of Defense (DOD), diplomatic and intelligence activities, and civilian leaders. Consequently, in order to provide better communications support to critical government functions during emergencies, President Kennedy established the National Communications System (NCS) by a Presidential Memorandum on August 21, 1963. The NCS' mandate included linking, improving, and extending the communication facilities and components of various Federal agencies, focusing on interconnectivity and survivability. On April 3, 1984, President Ronald Reagan signed Executive Order (E.O.) 12472 which broadened the NCS' national security and emergency preparedness (NS/EP) capabilities and superseded President Kennedy's 1963 memorandum. The NCS expanded from its original six members to an interagency group of 23 Federal departments and agencies, and began coordinating and planning NS/EP telecommunications to support crises and disasters.
