Lieutenant Forgue earned a B.S. in Marine and Environmental Sciences from the Coast Guard Academy in 2002. After graduation, she served as a Deck Watch Officer aboard USCGC Midgett (WHEC 726) homeported in Seattle, Washington. In 2004, she was assigned as the Commanding Officer of USCGC Stingray (WPB 87305) homeported in Mobile, Alabama. During her tour, the crew of Stingray ensured the safety and security of the cutter by successfully evading numerous tropical storms and hurricanes, including Hurricane Ivan in 2004, and Hurricanes Dennis and Katrina in 2005. Stingray’s crew received the Presidential Unit Citation and the Humanitarian Service Medal for relief efforts conducted in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Following completion of a M.S. degree in Meteorology at Florida State University, LT Forgue joined the faculty of USCGA in 2008.
