Ethics Forum Frequently Asked Questions
Q:  What is the Ethics Forum?
A:  An event where distinguished speakers come to the Academy and host discussions and lectures on various subjects regarding ethics, and ethical dilemmas in order to further develop leaders of character.

Q:  What are the dates for the Ethics Forum?
A:  This year's event begins at 1900 on Thursday, March 22 and ends Saturday, March 24 at 0800.

Q:  Will hotel and travel arrangements be made for the speakers?
A:   Hotel arrangements will be made at the Mystic Marriott from March 22nd through March 24th. We ask that each speaker makes their own travel arrangements at their earliest convenience. The travel details should then be forwarded to the Ethics Forum Project Officers who will provide the reimbursement form, which needs to be filled out before the conclusion of the forum.  All travel expenses will then be reimbursed for opening and closing speakers and the session speakers.

Q:  Will transportation be provided?
A:  Yes, transportation to and from the airport and to and from your hotel will be provided.

Q:  Do speakers receive an honorarium?
A:  No, we do not provide honorariums; all of our speakers purely volunteer. We feel that this provides for a better and more ethical environment.

Q:  Why do we host an Ethics Forum?
A:  To help cadets widen their perspectives on certain subjects; learn something new; or to discover new things about subjects that they thought they knew. It is also a time to reflect on one's own values and ethics, and think about how to instill theses essential qualities in people you will one day be leading.

Q:  What kind of speakers come to the Ethics Forum?
A:  All kinds. We believe in bringing in a diverse group of speakers to address leadership and ethics in many different ways in order to develop cadets into leaders of character.

Q:  What are students supposed to take away from the Ethics Forum?
A:   Cadets are supposed to take away knowledge from the people who might be more knowledgeable on a certain subject, or new thoughts and ideas that make you reflect on the kind of person you are, to the kind of person you portray, and the kind of person you want to be. The Ethics Forum gives cadets the chance to learn from new people with credibility.

Q:  Why is an entire day devoted to ethics necessary for the Corps of Cadets?
A:  The Ethics Forum is necessary because it broadens our horizons. The Ethics Forum gives the speakers a chance to demonstrate to each of us how they have had to deal with ethics and morals, and these examples are great experiences to prepare ourselves for when we have to face those moral and ethical dilemmas.
