Eligibility

Active

In order to become an Active member of the Corps, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen eligible to receive a Secret security clearance;
  • Be available to train for, prepare, and staff stabilization and conflict prevention efforts;
  • Be willing and physically able to work in austere and potentially dangerous hardship environments;
  • Be able to deploy upon 48-hours notice; and
  • Possess stabilization, conflict prevention, interagency planning, or similar expertise.

Standby

In order to become a Standby member of the Corps, you must:

  • Be a current U.S. government employee of the Departments of State, Agriculture, Commerce, Energy, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Justice, Transportation or the U.S. Agency for International Development, OR a Foreign Service retiree;
  • Be willing and able to work in a hardship environment;
  • Have functional skills, regional experience or linguistic skills relevant to conflict prevention and stabilization work.
