The United States strongly supports efforts by countries and multilateral organizations working to establish entities similar to the U.S. Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations and the Civilian Response Corps. The United States and its international partners share a commitment to preventing state failure and violent conflict and to building a more peaceful world.
As part of these efforts, the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilizaton Operations participates in the International Stabilization and Peacebuilding Initiative (ISPI), an informal, non-policy making network of 21 governments and international organizations. ISPI seeks to improve the effectiveness of stabilization and peacebuilding operations by bringing together leading experts in this field for the purpose of sharing information, building technical knowledge, and enhancing overall cooperation among actors.
