      On September 23, 2012, I will be celebrating 8 years of freedom after spending 10-13 years in prison for shoplifting. I thank God for keeping my mind stayed on Jesus in that dark, cold and lonely place called “jail/prison”. When my family and “friends” were nowhere to be found, God was there; getting me ready to go to work in the “Army of The Lord”. God opened doors for me even while I was confined, i.e. when God sets us free, we are free indeed! I thank God for all the Great Mentors who have given me a sense of direction that has kept me out of trouble in the first place. I will not name them all but these are some of the community/business leaders who actually took the time to write me letters or send me pictures and greeting cards while I was in prison. They encouraged me and gave the responsibility to GET UP FROM MY MESS! You may know Rev. Jim Holley, of Little Rock Baptist Church, Dr. Charles G. Adams, of Hartford Memorial Baptist Church, Mr. Earl G. Graves & Mr. Waynette Sobers, of Black Enterprise Magazine in New York and Mr. Mel Farr, Sr., and others like Mr. Herb Strather, of Strather Academy, Dr. Lee Bowes, Dr. Anges Barolo and Mr. Rick Forman. Like I said, I will name them all- just know that mentoring can make all the difference in the world for folks that may be headed the wrong way in life!!
