Fiscal Year 2011 Budget Request

On April 15, 2011, President Obama signed H.R. 1473, a continuing resolution to fund agencies and programs of federal government for the remainder of fiscal year 2011. In total, the continuing resolution provides $1.078 billion for the Corporation for National and Community Service and its programs, about 94% of our FY 2010 enacted level. This amount was further reduced by a 0.2% across-the-board rescission to all programs and activities.Total 2011 funding including the rescission is $1.076 billion, or about $339 million less than the President’s FY 2011 request. Reductions to CNCS programs included a $12.7 million cut to RSVP, a $23.2 million cut to AmeriCorps State and National, and a $39.5 million cut to Learn and Serve America, eliminating FY 2011 funding for the program.
