Tijerina Municipal Library in Matamoros.

    The Department of State has issued this Worldwide Caution to update information on the continuing threat of terrorist actions and violence against U.S. citizens and interests throughout the world. U.S. citizens are reminded to maintain a high level of vigilance and to take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness. This replaces the Worldwide Caution dated January 24, 2012, to provide updated information on security threats and terrorist activities worldwide.

    Visa Processing Fees Changed on April 13, 2012

    Effective April 13, 2012, the Department of State has adjusted visa processing fees. The fees for most nonimmigrant visa applications and Border Crossing Cards has increased, while all immigrant visa processing fees have decreased.

  • New USCIS Immigration Visa Fee
    Effective February 1, 2013, all individuals issued immigrant visas overseas must pay a $165.00 USCIS Immigrant Fee before traveling to the United States. Only prospective adoptive parents whose child(ren) is/are entering the United States under either the Orphan or Hague Process, Iraqi and Afghan special immigrants who were employed by the U.S. government, returning residents, and those issued K visas are exempt from the new fee.
