Although the famine in Somalia ended earlier this year, more than two million people in that country still urgently need humanitarian aid. And the overall humanitarian situation in the region remains fragile; more than 9 million people in the Horn need assistance.

This is a Security Message for U.S. citizens in Eritrea. The U.S. Embassy has been made aware of increased military presence in some sections of Asmara. Employees of the U.S. government have been advised to limit their movements within the city, avoid large gatherings, and exercise caution. We strongly recommend that private U.S. citizens do likewise. -

Visa Processing Fees to Change on April 13, 2012
Effective April 13, 2012, the Department of State will adjust visa processing fees. The fees for most nonimmigrant visa applications and Border Crossing Cards will increase, while all immigrant visa processing fees will decrease.
