MISS
We have databased all the vascular plant specimens in the herbarium, with the exception of accessioned specimens returned to the collection upon the death of Dr. Maeburn Huneycutt, former curator of MISS. Digitization of these specimens will be ongoing.


MISSA
The Mississippi State University Herbarium in Starkville, MS, is in the process of databasing their vascular plant collection. As these specimens become digitized, they will be made available on this searchable website.


Our specimen database can be searched by scientific name (latest taxon name on the specimen or by synonym), by plant family, by country, by state, by county, by natural area (Mississippi specimens only), by collector, and by collection date, or a combination of any of these. Options for sorting and viewing the data are available.
