[Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs] A change in the AlabamaSAVES loan program means more Alabama businesses will have the chance to make upgrades that will save energy, reduce expenses and boost employment opportunities. The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs announced a reduction in the program’s minimum loan amount to $50,000 from $250,000. -

07/14/2011 - Honda Factories Follow Alabama Plant's Lead To Get Greener
[Alabama Development Office] Honda announced today that it has achieved one of the most important targets in the company's long-standing green factory initiative in North America: zero-waste-to-landfill. Ten of Honda's 14 manufacturing plants in North America are now operating while sending zero waste to local landfills, while the remaining four plants are functioning with "virtually zero" waste to landfill, the company said. -

[Secretary of State, Office of the] The National Association of Secretaries of State, currently holding its annual summer conference in Daniels, West Virginia, today inducted its new slate of national officers for the 2011-2012 cycle. Alabama Secretary of State Beth Chapman will serve as president through July 2012, marking only the second time in the association's 107-year history that an Alabama secretary of state has held the position. -

[Alabama Development Office] HUNTSVILLE- A company that makes lighted displays for car dashboards, home appliances and entertainment equipment will expand with an agreement approved Tuesday by the Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority to buy 10.4 acres in the Jetplex Industrial Park.
