Michael Annett is the top rookie finisher in the October 10th Nationwide Series Copart 300 at Auto Club Speedway.
The No. 15 Germain Racing Toyota driver started 24th and finished 11th. This was ahead of the rest of the 2009 Rookie of the Year contenders earning him the Raybestos "Rookie of the Race" award. Annett moved up 1 spot to 11th in the 2009 Nationwide Series point standings after this event.

Joey Logano wins the Copart 300 (from the pole), his sixth victory in 38 NASCAR Nationwide Series races.
This is the No. 20 GameStop/Brutal Legend Toyota driver's fifth victory and 15th top-10 finish in 2009. It is the first time Logano has won two consecutive series races. It is his first victory and third top-10 finish in three races at Auto Club Speedway. Logano, who made 19 of the 30 NNS races this season, is currently 14th in the 2009 series point standings.

Mark Martin was at the top of the speed chart in the Happy Hour practice leading to Sunday’s Sprint Cup Pepsi 500 at Auto Club Speedway.
Martin, driving the No. 5 Kellogg’s/CARQUEST Chevrolet, put up a 180.293 mph lap in the final practice. No. 07 Casey Mears, No. 11 Denny Hamlin, No. 29 Kevin Harvick and No. 39 Ryan Newman ere the rest of the top 5 in that session. Max Papis, at 172.869 mph in the No. 13 Toyota, was the slowest.

Casey Atwood misses the show for the October 10th Nationwide Series Copart 300 at Auto Club Speedway.
Atwood ran a 46th fastest qualifying lap of 171.078 mph in the No. 05 Chevrolet. It was not quick enough to make the field for today’s race.

Stanton Barrett will miss the October 10th Nationwide Series Copart 300 at Auto Club Speedway.
The team is outside the top 30 in owners points and not guaranteed a start in this weekend’s NNS race. The No. 31 Chevrolet driver’s qualifying speed of 173.452 mph, 42nd fastest, was not good enough to make the cut for the event.

Morgan Shepherd secures the last qualifying slot open to teams outside of the top 30 in owners points for the Nationwide Series race at Auto Club Speedway.
Shepherd’s lap of 173.837 mph in the No. 89 Lagina Plumbing/Eldora Speedway Chevrolet was 39th fastest in qualifying. He will line up 43rd for today’s Copart 300.

Justin Allgaier is the highest qualifying Rookie of the Year candidate for today’s Nationwide Series Copart 300 at Auto Club Speedway.
Allgaier qualified the No. 12 Verizon Wireless Dodge 3rd in the lineup. This was ahead of the rest of the 2009 ROTY contenders.
