Surgery Facilities

The Department of Laboratory Animal Medicine maintains dedicated surgical facilities for USDA species. Surgical facilities for rats and mice are also available. To schedule time in the DLAM facilities, please contact Tito Nelson. (or ext. 0580) Surgical facilities are also available for instructional labs. Scheduling for these labs can be arranged with Tito Nelson. (or ext. 0580)

Surgery facility requirements vary by species:

Rodents: Surgery in these species do not need to be carried out in dedicated facilities.

Nonrodents: Surgery in these species, including rabbits, must be carried out in dedicated surgical facilities.
