The greenbelt by the library in downtown Buda fills up with more that 125 artisans selling handcrafted items of every type – jewelry, candles, holiday decorations, salsas, woodcraft’s, pottery, and soaps – to name but a few. Local churches and youth organizations sell many different kinds of food – from fajitas and tamales to baked potatoes and turkey legs. Entertainment is a big part of Budafest. Children can visit with Santa Claus and get their picture taken with him. A full carnival with rides and games sets up across the street at the city park, offering something for everyone from the little toddler to the fearless daredevil. Visitors can try their luck at games of skill while munching on popcorn or cotton candy. The festival runs from 10:00am until 5:00pm, Saturday and Sunday on the first weekend in December.
