The Railroad Depot, Plaza & Gazebo are City owned
located at 201 S. Elm Street one block south
of FM 2920 and the railroad tracks.

Depot Gazebo and Railroad Depot Plaza.RAILROAD DEPOT The Railroad Depot is
open to the public on Sundays from 1:00
P.M.-5:00 P.M. The Depot contains train
memorabilia, original art works,
antiques, and a model railroad. Tours
are available on Sundays. Tours on other
days may be arranged for a school class,
day care or other groups by calling the
City of Tomball at 281-290-1001.
RAILROAD DEPOT GAZEBO
The Gazebo was added in
the spring of 2009 to the Railroad Depot
area. The Centennial Commission has
dedicated the Gazebo to the City of
Tomball to commemorate the 100th
birthday of Tomball. The gazebo is a
great place for a small family picnic,
wedding or just for photo opportunities.
MONTHLY EVENT
The Railroad Depot is
also open during 2nd Saturday at the
Depot, the City’s monthly event
featuring music, arts and an outdoor
movie each month. This is good free
family entertainment for all ages. Bring
your lawn chairs and picnic baskets. No
glass containers. Concessions are
available. In case of rain, event will
be held at the Tomball Community Center,
221 Market Street. For more information,

ANNUAL EVENTS
The City of Tomball and
The Tomball Sister City Organization
will be hosting the annual Tomball
German Christmas Market on the 2nd
Saturday of December. This is an all day
event. There will be lots of food, fun
and music for all family members.
Admission and parking free.
The 2nd Saturday in the
month of Easter, will include the annual
Bunny Run 5 K and Kids 1K. The 1st
year was a huge success; over 400 people
participated from all ages. Trophies,
awards and t-shirts were given out.
Starting in 2010, the City is working on
a 5K and a 10K for that weekend.
The last weekend of
March, for 2 ½ days, the Railroad Depot
area is the home for the Tomball
German Heritage Festival, sponsored
by the Tomball Sister City Organization
and the City of Tomball. It is a free
music/street festival celebrating German
and ethnic heritage with 5 stages of
live music and entertainment. There are
150 street vendors, all kinds of German
souvenirs and clothing and fireworks on
Saturday night. It’s like Oktoberfest in
March! Huge fun for the whole family!
You do not have to be German to enjoy
this festival. One of the best street
festivals in Texas!
Come join the City of
Tomball at the Railroad Depot Plaza in
February for the City’s reception for
Sam Houston Trailriders. The City
has hosted this for many years and
everyone looks forward to seeing the
horses and cowboys. The event is around
12:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M.. The City of
Tomball’s Mayor and City Council host
this event
WEEKLY EVENT
The Railroad Depot Plaza
also includes a “Walk Tomball” every
Saturday starting at 8:00 A.M. Join in
on the fitness, fun, friendship,
followed by a 9:00 A.M. coffee stop at a
local restaurant. You can find about 100
people attending this walk every
Saturday. Walk all 5 Saturdays and be
eligible to win door prizes. |
