Residential & Business Emergency Update


 

Volunteers in Police Service

Upon graduating the eight-week Citizens Police Academy, the graduates are given the opportunity to become active members of the Tomball Police Department Volunteers in Policing Services. This group of volunteers assist police department employees in non-confrontational duties which includes such activities as:

  • Motor Service Equipment Maintenance

  • Records Assistant

  • Special Events Assistant

  • L.E.S.I. Law Enforcement Spanish Interpreters

  • Warrant Detail Administrative Assistant

  • Speed Watch

  • Vacation Watch

  • Knightwatch

  • Daywatch

  • Handicapped Parking Enforcement

  • All TPD Community Based Programs


By the volunteers performing such duties, officers are given the opportunity to proactively focus on crime in the area and be readily available to respond to citizens’ calls for service.
