Cemeteries Preservation Master Plan Memory
Citizens are invited to complete this form to help plan the future of two historic municipal cemeteries – the Comal and New Braunfels Cemeteries. The City is developing a Master Plan that will guide the renovation, preservation, and maintenance of these valuable historic and cultural resources for the community of New Braunfels.
Please mail or drop off form to: Parks & Recreation, Attn: Cemetery Memories, 110 Golf Course Rd, New Braunfels, TX 78130 or fax to 830-608-2162.
As two of the City’s oldest cemeteries, these sites reflect the history of New Braunfels and its people. They contain graves of some of the city’s earliest settlers and display traditional works of arts and crafts, as well as vegetation planted in commemoration and memory. Please share your knowledge by writing your stories about these cemeteries:
• Do you have family buried at either of these sites? Are there stories you’d like to share about these ancestors and their contributions to the community?
• What do you know about burial customs reflected in these cemeteries? How were monuments chosen, crafted, or designed?
• What sorts of trees, shrub, or flowers have been planted at family plots? Are there any rare or unusual plants growing within the cemeteries?
If you have any photographs of these cemeteries or your ancestors buried there, you are invited to bring them by the Parks office (110 Golf Course Rd., Landa Park). These photographs will be scanned and immediately returned.
