The Community Services Department encompasses parks, recreation, libraries, conference services, cemetery services. Additionally, the Department encompasses the Killeen Civic and Conference Center and the Killeen City Cemetery.
The Senior Centers provide an array of activities and programs for the seniors in our community. From card games and ceramics to square dancing and quilting, seniors will find the Senior Centers a wonderful place to enjoy a few hours with friends old and new. | |
The Killeen City Cemetery started as a private cemetery in 1899 but has graves that date back to 1856. The City of Killeen now owns and maintains the cemetery and has expanded it in recent years. | |
The Killeen Civic and Conference Center (KCCC) complex is the premiere spot for area gatherings. Whether your event is an elegant wedding reception, a reunion dinner or just a small staff meeting, the KCCC has a space to fit your needs. The KCCC also oversees the Special Events Center and the rodeo arena. | |
The Killeen City Library System (KCLS) offers a full-range of library services to all ages through two facilities, the Main Library in downtown Killeen and the Copper Mountain Branch Library in the shopping district. Library users can reserve materials, access their accounts online and enjoy a variety of online databases and e-books that are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. | |
Killeen Parks & Recreation (KPR) encompasses athletic and recreation services, parks, the Bob Gilmore Senior Center and the Killeen City Cemetery. Residents are kept informed of the wealth of activities offered by KPR through the seasonal RecMan publication. | |
The Stonetree Golf Club invites amateurs and pros to experience our excellent golfing facilities. The new clubhouse provides a sports restaurant, meeting rooms and a top-of-the-line pro shop. | |
The Volunteer Services Division works closely with Killeen Volunteers, Inc., (KVI) and its subsidiary organizations to promote community pride and volunteerism. Killeen's exemplary Youth Advisory Commission is overseen by this Division. |
