The Outdoor Capital of Texas

The City of Buda is located 17 miles south of Austin along the I-35 corridor in beautiful Hays County. Though one of the fastest growing communities in Texas, a stroll downtown on Main Street reveals Buda’s prevalent small town charm.

With proximity to both Austin and San Antonio, our bedroom community merges metropolitan opportunities with rural relaxation. Our dedication to community spirit is demonstrated with festivals year-round such as the nationally known Wiener Dog Races in April and Budafest in December.

Buda was incorporated as a city in 1948. Buda is a Home Rule City governed by Council-Manager form of government. All public servants are elected city-wide and members must reside within the City limits.
