You may begin the application process for a Texas Concealed Handgun License or Instructor Certification on-line using a valid credit card. Current license holders may renew their Texas Concealed Handgun License or instructor certification utilizing the on-line process with a valid credit card and a personal identification number issued by the Department. The on-line entry expedites the application process and allows the user applying for or renewing a license or certification the capability to track the status of any handgun license or instructor certification application submitted to the department. The submission of photos, fingerprint cards, and notarized affidavits will still be required to complete all applications. To renew an existing license, you must have received notification from the department stating that your license or certification is about to expire. Other on line services available include the ability to change your address. If you are eligible to renew an existing license or certificate, you may process a change of address during the license or certificate renewal transaction.
