Link Policy

This document outlines the policies for linking to the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) Web site. BON encourages organizations that link to this web site to comply with the State policy, http://www.dir.state.tx.us/standards/link_policy.htm, especially regarding protection of the privacy rights of individuals, and to make reasonable efforts to provide accessible sites.

Linking to BON

You do not need to get advance permission to link to us if you are making a simple link to the home page. If you link to the home page we do request that you only link to us using the following url: http://www.bon.state.tx.us/.

What You Should Not Do

Please do not capture BON web pages within your frames, present BON content as that of your own, otherwise misrepresent the content of the BON web pages or misinform users about the origin or ownership of the content of the BON Web site. Any link to our site should be a full forward link that passes the client browser to the BON site unencumbered. The BACK button should return the visitor to your Web site if the visitor wishes to back out. Although the content of the BON Web site is available to the public, certain information may be trademarked, service marked, or otherwise protected as BON's intellectual property, and all content is protected by federal copyright laws. Use of protected intellectual property must be in accordance with federal and state law and must reflect the copyright, trademark, service mark or other intellectual property ownership of BON. Do not link to BON graphics or tables within BON Web pages, especially in an effort to place the downloading burden on the BON Web servers. Such an action may be considered a misuse of state resources. Please contact BON to request permission to use a copy of the graphics within your pages.

Accessibility

Owners of sites linked to state agency pages shall use reasonable efforts to ensure that persons with disabilities may access these sites.

Getting a link to your site from the BON

The BON Web site does not enter into reciprocal link agreements. We may provide links to web sites within our posted articles or information, but only to sites that are appropriate to our mission and the business of the Board.
