EXEMPT POSITIONS (FOR 2008-2009 BIENNIUM)

The State has a limited number of positions that are exempt from the Classification Plan at state agencies. These are limited to the executive level positions at agencies and are specified in the General Appropriations Act for each agency. These positions have not-to-exceed salaries that are set by the Legislature each biennium.  Additional information about exempt positions salary designations can be found in the General Appropriations Act, Article IX, Section 3.05.

Higher education institutions are deferred from the Classification Act. Each institution or university system has their own compensation system.
