CDC promotes and strives to achieve the
highest standards of excellence – excellence in
practice, science, and policy, and the systems that
support these enterprises.
The Public Health
Practice Council (PHPC) fosters an environment for the
promotion of public health practice throughout CDC -
with the ultimate goal of improving public health.
With
leadership from the Chair, Stephanie Bailey, MD, MSHSA,
PHPC provides a forum to explore public health practice
issues critical to achievement of CDC's Health
Protection Goals; promote the translation of CDC science
into effective public health action at the front line;
and shape and guide implementation of a CDC strategy for
improving public health practice throughout the Nation. |
Purpose
- To provide a forum for a coordinated, enterprise-wide approach to addressing public health practice issues at CDC;
- To foster and support an environment for shared leadership of public health practice throughout CDC with the ultimate goal of improving public health;
- To develop a communications network across all Coordinating Centers, Coordinating Offices, and National Centers that would facilitate the exchange of issues, concerns, successes, and best practices about shared practice matters;
- To contribute to a joint strategy for improving public health practice; and
- To advance achievement of CDC’s Health Protection Goals.
