Recovery Act

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 allotted more than $11 billion for the Weatherization and Intergovernmental Program. Funds were distributed through these projects:

• Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants

  The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants Program (EECBG) received $3.2 billion from the Recovery Act. States, local governments, Indian tribes, and U.S. territories can obtain block grants to improve energy efficiency and install renewable energy systems. • Weatherization Assistance Program

  The Weatherization Assistance Program received $5 billion from the Recovery Act to expedite the weatherization of low-income homes. Learn more about these activities. • State Energy Program

  The State Energy Program received $3.1 billion from the Recovery Act for additional grants that do not require matching state funds. More information on these grants will be available soon.
