  • CBP:
  • - Closed the public comment period of the Draft Environmental Assessments for the following land Ports of Entry (LPOEs) on August 8, 2009. - Walhalla, ND - Neche, ND - Churubusco, NY - Maida, ND - Morgan, MT. Submitted congressional notifications to DHS regarding the upcoming award of 7 design/build contracts through an interagency agreement (IAA) with GSA on August 6, 2009. Issued request for quotations (RFQ) for repair and alteration (R&A) installments of emergency generators on August 7, 2009. Received concurrence on August 6, 2009 for the consultation letter sent to the New York US Fish and Wildlife Service (FSW) field office for the Churubusco and Cannon Corners LPOEs.
  • DHS MGMT - GSA executed a "Right of Entry" agreement with DC to allow construction access to the West Campus for Phase 1 development off of Firth Sterling Avenue. This is a critical milestone to allow demolition and site development activities to proceed on schedule. GSA held a Kick-off meeting for the Tier 2 National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis and master planning for the DHS office space to be housed on the St. Elizabeths East Campus. This effort will support the timely GSA execution of DHS ARRA funds programmed to design the new FEMA HQ on the East Campus.

  • - Submitted a list of the GSA IT Schedule 70 vendors that provide the equipment required for the Stimulus Tactical Communications Equipment and Limited Services procurement to the Office of Acquisition Management (OAQ)
  • - Modified the procurement evaluation plan for the Region 2 and 3 Equipment and Limited Services procurement and re-submitted the document to OAQ
  • - Modified the procurement evaluation plan for the Stimulus Hub Upgrade Generator System procurement and re-submitted the document to OAQ
  • - Completed engineering analysis to develop a plan of action and milestones to interface ICE tactical communications systems with DHS OneNet
  • TSA - Secretary Napolitano announced approx $42 million in ARRA funding for the construction of new inline baggage handling systems at Sacramento International Airport (SMF), Honolulu International Airport (HNL) and Kahului Airport (OGG) on 8/7/09. Obligated approximately $1.08M for Airport Surveillance Program-CCTV equipment at Boise, Idaho (BOI) in an OTA signed 7/27/09.

  • - An internal Acquisition Strategy Review for Mobile Surveillance Systems (MSS) will be conducted during the week of August 17, 2009.
  • - Plans to modify the current IAA with GSA for approximately $11.27 million to account for an additional design/build construction project at Maida, ND LPOE as early as the week of August 10, 2009. Plans to issue the Request for Proposals (RFP) as early as the week of August 10, 2009 for the Maida design/build construction under the GSA IAA. Plans to award seven design/build contracts through GSA IAA for modernization of CBP-owned ports as early as August 13, 2009. Plans to issue RFQs the Border Security Deployment Program (BSDP) installations as early as August 14, 2009. Plans to issue RFPs for emergent repairs as early as August 13, 2009. Plans to initiate land appraisals for design/build modernization projects as early as August 10, 2009. Plans to modify the IAA with US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) as early as the week of August 10, 2009 for approximately $350,000 to provide environmental remediation to address existing firing ranges at the following LPOEs: - Noonan, ND - Whitetail, MT - Antelope Wells, NM. Plans to close the public comment period of the Draft Environmental Assessments for the following LPOEs on August 13, 2009: - Pinnacle Road, VT - Pittsburg, NH - Wild Horse, MT - Scobey, MT - Antelope Wells, NM. Plans to issue a presolicitation notice as early as August 10, 2009, in order to notify small business contractors of the six direct procurements of design/build contractor services for ARRA modernization projects at the following LPOEs: - Boundary, WA - Los Ebanos, TX - Morses Line, VT - Hamlin, ME - Del Bonita, MT - Cannons Corner, NY. Plans to issue an RFP as early as August 13, 2009 for Phase 1 of a two-phased solicitation for the six direct procurements of design/build contractor services for ARRA modernization projects at the following LPOEs: - Boundary, WA - Los Ebanos, TX - Morses Line, VT - Hamlin, ME - Del Bonita, MT - Cannons Corner, NY.
  • - Tactical Communications: - CBP is waiting for release of the Acquisition Decision Memorandum by DHS Chief Procurement Officer to the TACCOM Program Manager. Non-Intrusive Inspection (NII) - The Technical Evaluation Board will convene on August 12, 2009 to begin the evaluation of all proposals in response to the ARRA RFQs.

  • - Tailor the procurement evaluation plan for the Stimulus Hub Upgrade Equipment procurement and re-submit the document to OAQ
