 Major Actions Taken to Date:
  • The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) obligated a contract for $1.2 million for the design of cleanrooms in the Building 1 Extension at the NIST Boulder, CO facility.
  • The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) obligated a construction contract for $1.1 million for the design of the National Structural Fire Resistance Laboratory addition on the NIST Gaithersburg campus.
  • NOAA issued a $1.9 million award to Enterprise Information Solutions, Inc., to provide onsite cartographic support.
  • NOAA issued a Request for Proposal for the Southwest Fishery Center (La Jolla, CA) demolition and restoration design tasks.
  • NASA awarded a contract modification with funding from NOAA to Northrop Grumman for $21.2 million for the CERES FM-6 task.
  • The Bureau of the Census issued a Request for Proposal for the creative production of the Decennial Census media campaign.

  • NTIA spoke about broadband and the BTOP at the 2009 Statewide Technology Conference in Charleston, WV.
  • DOI awarded a contract on behalf of NTIA for grants management support for its Broadband grants program to Booz Allen Hamilton.
  • NTIA's TV Converter Box Coupon Program accepted requests for 251,049 coupons with a value of $10,041,960 and reimbursed retailers for 208,453 coupons with a value of $8,337,120.
  • Cumulatively, NTIA's TV Converter Box Coupon Program has accepted requests for 14,639,822 coupons with a value of $585,592,880 and has reimbursed retailers for 6,428,742 coupons with a value of $257,116,068.
  • NTIA transferred $1.9 million to the Federal Communications Commission to enable extended digital television transition call center support.
 Major Planned Actions:
  • The Bureau of the Census plans to issue additional Requests for Proposal for the Decennial Census enhanced media program.
  • The Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) is seeking grant application reviewers. More information is available at www.broadbandusa.gov. Potential candidates should email resumes to BTOPreviewers@ntia.doc.gov.
