    ARRA Grant Opportunity Workshop

    On April 27th, more than 450 people joined Governor Chet Culver and Senator Tom Harkin for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Grant Opportunities Workshop at Dallas Center-Grimes High School. Attendees gained knowledge about grant opportunities funded through the ARRA and heard a presentation from an expert from Grants.gov. Attendees also participated in discussions during breakout sessions led by representatives from federal and state agencies for specific grant opportunities in the areas of Housing, Infrastructure, Small Business & Workforce Development and Energy.

    Housing Improvements

    ARRA will help with much-needed housing and community development upgrades.

    Aid to Small Businesses and Workforce Development

    ARRA will expand SBA and USDA loan funding and provide tax relief to Iowa businesses and provisions for "green" job training programs that will help drive the Iowa economy.
