Batteries

AET Department researchers conduct research on advanced lithium ion batteries for the Batteries for Advanced Transportation Technologies Program. BATT is supported by the U.S. Department of Energy Freedom CAR and Vehicles Technologies Program to help develop high-performance rechargeable batteries for use in electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid-electric vehicles (HEVs).

The work is carried out in the Advanced Energy Technologies Department at Berkeley Lab, in partnership the University of California, Berkeley, and other organizations.
