- ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability was founded in 1990 by local governments at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. ICLEI is a democratically governed membership association of cities, towns, counties, metropolitan governments, and local government associations. Headquartered in Toronto, Canada, ICLEI's mission is to build and serve a worldwide movement of local governments to achieve tangible improvements in global sustainability with special focus on environmental conditions through cumulative local actions.

- The IEA Greentie Energy Technology Transfer directory, containing contact details for more than 7000 organizations and experts, supports the diffusion and exchange of information about energy technology and greenhouse gas related problems. NOTE: The GREENTIE Program concluded in March 2005 but this web site will remain live to provide access to the wide range of information collected since 1995.
- United Nations Environment Program
- The UNEP Collaborating Centre on Energy and Environment supports the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) in pursuing its aim of incorporating environmental aspects into energy planning and policy world-wide, with special emphasis on developing countries.
- World Energy Efficiency Association
- The World Energy Efficiency Association (WEEA) was founded in June 1993 as a private, non-profit organization composed of developed and developing country institutions and individuals charged with increasing energy efficiency.

- We work with energy, and more: AKF investigates problems that are of interest to the public sector and its users; in particular, problems that are relevant for Danish local governments. Areas of research include: the relationship between public services and institutions and the welfare of individuals, the public utilization of resources, and the organization and effectiveness of government and administration.

- Austrian Energy Agency
- The Austrian Energy Agency (Energieverwertungsagentur, or E.V.A. for short) is the Austrian energy research and policy institution in which the federal and the provincial administration and some thirty important institutions and corporations from a variety of economic sectors cooperate in an effort to attain its energy policy objectives, which aim mainly at a macro-economically efficient production and a rational use of energy, at a stimulation of renewable energy sources and of innovative technologies. E.V.A. acts, for all of its members, as a clearing house and a coordination platform for all associated national and international activities.
- (Bulgaria) Center for Energy Efficiency EnEffect
- The Center for Energy Efficiency EnEffect is a non-profit NGO, whose activities are aimed at energy efficiency improvement. EnEffect acts as the Secretariat of the Municipal Energy Efficiency Network EcoEnergy, which comprises 68% of the population of Bulgaria, as well as Secretariat of the Regional Network for Efficient Use of Energy and Water Resources (RENEUER), comprising eight countries from the region of Southeast Europe.

- Energy Research Group - Dublin
- ERG is based in the School of Architecture in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, of University College Dublin. Since 1975, ERG has undertaken research, development, consultancy, education and dissemination activities on energy utilization in buildings and climate-sensitive architectural design. For more than a decade the Group's activities have had a strongly European dimension.
