The
Smithsonian's Anacostia Community Museum presents Baldemar Velásquez,
founder and president of the Farm Labor Organizing Committee (FLOC), AFL-CIO,
as keynote speaker for this year’s Martin Luther King, Jr. commemorative
event. Velasquez will speak on the topic "Latinos and Civil Rights:
Changing The Face of America." Organized by the Anacostia Community
Museum, the program is co-sponsored by the Smithsonian Latino Center.
Performing at the event will be Mexican folklore singer and musician,
Rudy Arredondo.
