Resource Center for Addressing and Resolving Poor PerformanceThe booklet titled "Addressing and Resolving Poor Performance" is designed to help Federal supervisors address and resolve poor performance. Addressing and resolving poor performance can involve three different steps: discussing performance problems, providing an opportunity to improve, and taking formal action. This booklet is organized accordingly into these three steps. Charts, checklists, and answers to commonly asked questions are provided throughout the booklet to further assist supervisors. Also, samples of documents such as performance improvement notices and decision notices are provided. Supervisors will find that using this booklet along with the technical advice they receive from their agency's internal human resources staff will enable them to resolve many performance problems.
