Clean Air Act in the U.S. Code
The Clean Air Act, like other laws enacted by Congress, was incorporated into the United States Code. The House of Representatives maintains a current version of the U.S. Code, which includes amendments of the Clean Air Act enacted since 1990. To see the current provisions of the Clean Air Act, you should refer to Title 42, Chapter 85 of the U.S. Code. Section numbers are different; for example, section 101 in the Clean Air Act is equivalent to section 7401 in the U.S. Code.
The U.S. Code is available in two places:
- Government Printing Office - The "official" version, with sections displayed as plain text
- Cornell University Legal Information Institute - Displays sections as nicely formatted Web pages and may include more recent updates than the GPO version
