Places to See Bald Eagles and
Bald Eagle Images
There are many areas
in the United States to see bald eagles. Visit the "American
Bald Eagle Information" website (not affiliated with
the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) to find the names
and locations of many of these areas nationwide.
National Eagle Center - Wabasha, Minnesota
The National Eagle Center, located on 1000 feet of Mississippi shoreline, is
open daily 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and a river deck is also open 24/7 for eagle
observation. The Mississippi River at Wabasha is a favorite over-wintering area for
hundreds of bald eagles, as well as home to countless year-round resident
eagles.
There is a new 14,000 square-foot visitor center. Live education eagles are viewed close up in a cage-free viewing area, and
staff provide information and answer questions. Visitors are encouraged to
take photos, and eagle education programs are given several times a day.
