Friends of the Detroit Lakes WMD logo

Local residents have formed the Friends of the Detroit Lakes Wetland Management District, a group which supports the work of the USFWS and the DLWMD. They sponsor a bird festival, encourage tourists to visit Detroit Lakes and enjoy prairie wildlife. The Friends raise money and volunteer time to accomplish numerous public events, as well as participation in habitat restoration projects and other conservation related work.

If you are interested in learning more about the Friends group, stop by the Detroit Lakes Wetland Management District office or contact us.
